Starlettes Coaches

Veleka Battle, a 1994 graduate of LaGrange High School, rejoined the staff of the Sound of Champions in the fall of 2007 as Auxiliary Line Coordinator.  While a student at LHS Ms. Battle played clarinet and participated for four years in the Granger Band, and has previously worked with the auxiliary lines at LHS.

Ms. Battle hold a B.A. in Science and an M.A.T. in Education from LaGrange College.  She completed her Ed.S. in Leadership in 2008 at Columbus State University.  She currently splits her day between LaGrange High School and Gardner Newman Middle School where she teaches Science.

Ms. Battle is a LaGrange native and has a daughter, Shaela.

Kathy Grissom, a LaGrange High graduate, has served as a coach and coordinator for the Starlettes for 10 years as line has grown to encompass multiple outlets.

Angela Pitts, a graduate of Franklin County High School where she was a member of the color guard, joins the band staff for the 2010-11 school year.  She is in her second year as a memer of the LHS Faculty.  Ms. Pitts holds a B.A. and M.A.T. from Georgia College & State University.
